Regions

Flying Start Challenge is split into three regions within the South West – Bristol, Gloucester and Yeovil – with schools from each local region competing against each, before the regional winners go head-to-head in the Grand Final.

Gloucester

The Gloucester region are supported by Safran Landing Systems and Triumph. Both companies are situated in Gloucester and welcome schools to join in the competition for the whole Gloucestershire and near-area. This year the regional final is taking place at Chipping Campden School. For the 2017-2018 competition, the following schools are taking part;

  • Balaam Wood School

Yeovil

The Yeovil region is supported by Leonardo Helicopters. Leonardo welcome schools in the South Somerset and Dorset area to join the competition. This year the regional final is taking place at Yeovilton Royal Navy Air Station. For the 2017-2018 competition, the following schools are taking part;

Bristol

The Bristol region is supported by 6 of the sponsoring companies; Airbus, Atkins, BAE, GKN, MBDA, and Rolls-Royce. Schools in the Bristol and North Somerset area are welcome to join the competition. This year the regional final is taking place at the Bristol Aerospace Museum. For the 2017-2018 competition, the following schools are taking part;
